Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna on Sunday blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta for 'lying' during his campaign rally in Mombasa.
While addressing a political rally at Serani Grounds which culminated in the defection of former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar to Jubilee, Uhuru noted that whereas he served in public office for a shorter period of time, he has managed to achieve much success as compared to his political rivals who served in the cabinet for many years but with no track record.
According to Uhuru, he only served as cabinet minister for three years during Presidents Moi and Kibaki regimes and further four years as President of Kenya.
But Miguna swiftly dismissed the President's assertions saying that he (Uhuru) had served as a Cabinet Minister under Moi and Kibaki governments for 8 years.
"Stop lying @UKenyatta.You were a cabinet minister under Moi and Kibaki for 8 years. You've president for 5 (years). That's 13 years-not 7," Miguna said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
