Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has defended himself from comments he made some time back that NASA leader Raila Odinga is a joker.
Speaking on NTV’s AM Live, the hard-hitting Miguna said he only said what he felt was appropriate at that time.
He further insisted that Odinga won the presidency in both 2007 and 2017 and that he only failed to take the instruments of power.
“Raila did not become president in 2007 because he refused to be sworn in, he refused to take the instruments of power,” he said.
He added: “This time what I’m saying, I’ll be there as the general, I will ensure that he takes the instrument of power, Raila won in 2007 and 2017, we are not going to escape from there,”
The coalition has insisted that it will go on to swear in Odinga as the people’s president if the Jubilee administration does not heed their call to dialogue.
The coalition leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the presidential race in 2017, saying the playing ground was not even for a fair election.
President Kenyatta won the second polls by a landslide, assuming power for his second term in office.
