Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna has differed with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
In a tweet on Monday, Miguna said he stands by his letter in which he claimed NASA CEO Norman Magaya and strategist David Ndii are working with the Jubilee Party.
“I stand by my note to @DavidNdii and @amugira, which has not been denied. My note is true in substance and in fact. We are going to liberate Kenya from the despots with truth, honesty, integrity and courage; not lies. @JubileePartyK despots are the enemy. Let's march on!” read Miguna’s tweet.
The Twitter post seems to be a response to a statement by NASA leader Raila Odinga dismissing the allegations by Miguna.
Miguna on Sunday claimed that Magaya is actively working for Jubilee and had accepted Sh30m to withdraw a petition against Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in retaliation for his failed nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
The vocal lawyer further claimed that Ndii was opposed to Raila’s swearing-in as the people’s president and was planning to sabotage NRM’s activities.
“Norman Magaya is actively working for Jubilee. He took Sh30m to withdraw the petition against Sonko in retaliation for his failed nomination to EALA. He had vowed to “revenge against Raila” after that. Raila Odinga himself told me about it. Ndii opposed the swearing in and threatened to lead a walkout from NASA of Kalonzo et al. Ndii shouted at me and made the threats in person in my house. Now that their schemes have flopped, they have conspired to sabotage the NRMKe. We shall not permit it!” wrote Miguna in a Facebook note.
However, in a statement on Monday, Raila dismissed the claims by Miguna, terming them as unfortunate and detrimental to NASA’s cause.
“We wish to make it clear that as a coalition, we have full confidence in Dr Ndii and Mr Magaya who have dedicated time and resources working for NASA’s cause. The allegations against the two, if at all they were made, are very unfortunate and detrimental to the cause we are pursuing,” said Raila.
