Through his Twitter handle, the lawyer asked the President to address among other things the death of many Kenyans that was witnessed during the highly contested 2017 presidential election instead of indulging trivial issues.

"We aren't interested in what you said about one another. We must address what YOU DID - killing innocent Kenyans, maiming them and destroying their houses, detaining us incommunicado, torturing me, sedating, disobeying court orders and forcing me into exile. We need JUSTICE," posted the lawyer .

During the event, the president hugged his arch political rival Raila Odinga and urged the other top government dignitaries that were present to follow the suit for sake of the country.

“We have campaigned against each other, we have said nasty things against each other, and we have hurt each other. On my behalf, my brother Raila, I ask you for forgiveness, and I tender my apology,” President Kenyatta said after finishing up his speech.

Thursday's prayer breakfast was the sixteenth edition of the event meant to foster unity and peaceful co-existence among the Kenyans.
