Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna is back again in active politics.

Miguna failed to clinch the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the August 8 polls.

Since then, he has been a very strong defender of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) team and a critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government despite him voting for Uhuru in the August poll.

Miguna through a twitter post on Friday, announced that he had officially joined the National Resistance Movement (NRM) at the rank of the general.

He further stated that his role will see him be in charge of operations in the Movement.

"ANNOUNCEMENT: I've enlisted with the #NRMat the rank of GENERAL in charge of operations! We must win! #DemocracyNotDictatorship#Resist," wrote Miguna.

Miguna had earlier been an aide to the former prime minister Raila Odinga before the two fell out.
