'Miguna Miguna is on the loose once again'.
This is how critics and supporters have simply described Miguna's re-emergence to the national limelight after spending some time in 'hibernation'.
Little has been heard of this man who advised former Prime Minister Raila Odinga between 2009 and 2011 since he launched his two famous political books in the run-up to 2013 elections.
The two books 'Peeling Back the Mask' and 'Kidneys For the King' launched in 2012, led Miguna to shoot to national fame while attracting an equal number of supporters, admirers and critics.
Four years later, he is back with a bang! This time he is not launching books but shooting from the hip.
He is moving from one TV station to the other, 'attacking' and 'defaming' anyone who dares stand on his Nairobi gubernatorial bid path.
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Governor Evans Kidero are already feeling the heat as he is not sparing them on his Twitter account and on the TV interviews that he attends. He wants them out of Nairobi leadership for 'looting' the capital and running 'cartels'.
Perhaps, to show his seriousness, on Thursday on his Twitter account, he 'launched' his six-point 'manifesto' that enumerates problems he says have been troubling Kenya's seat of power (Nairobi) and the country by extension, and which he will give priority once elected.
“The first and most important problem facing Nairobi and which I shall sort out in 2017 is corruption and the stranglehold by cartels. Nairobi loses hundreds of shillings through theft by @KideroEvans and the corruption networks,” he tweeted.
He added, “Senator @MikeSonko whose primary job is to ensure that @KideroEvans provides services to the people is incompetent. MPs like (Dennis) Waweru, @SakajaJohnson and @Rachelshebesh who are supposed to protect public interest are incompetent and compromised. Visionless leadership, waste and neglect. Nairobi residents have been terrorised, abused, neglected, dehumanised and treated like animals by their 'leaders'.”
The NGOs were also not spared with him saying, “Previously vocal NGOs, media and 'intellectuals' have gone mute either due to fear of drug lords or compromise by cartels. I've placed the cartels, drug lords, and thieves on notice. They have panicked. Unhealthy living conditions, dirty water, filthy garbage and horrible roads. I will stop this."
