Former Nairobi governor aspirant Miguna Miguna's lawyer has spoken after the sudden deportation of his client.
Lawyer Nelson Havi said that the deportation was unfair and that it had been executed by 'criminals' running the country.
“We are reliably informed that Miguna Miguna has been forced into a KLM flight for “deportation” to Canada. Now, how do you deport a Kenyan? This Country has been overrun by criminals,” Havi said Tuesday night.
His criticism was supplemented by another lawyer Donald Kipkorir who said the decision was a violation of Miguna's rights.
“Under Article 16 of the Constitution, a Kenyan by birth even if dual Citizen, can never lose his citizenship... Under Article 17, a foreigner who acquired Kenyan citizenship can lose it ... Miguna’s deportation violates our Constitution," he said.
