Gubernatorial hopeful Miguna Miguna has challenged Nairobi residents to vote candidates with integrity during this year's general election.

Speaking on Saturday during a church service at Jericho SDA Church, the former adviser to ODM Leader Raila Odinga said only candidates with forthrightness can deliver important services to residents.

"Vote incorruptible people who are ready to serve and solve your problems," he said.

"You have the power to free yourself from bad governance on August 8," he added.

He shared a podium with the incumbent Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, who urged him to drop his bid and instead back him.

"We will welcome our brother Miguna after the polls so that we talk about the issues he has raised," Kidero said.

Miguna Miguna has said he will vie as an independent candidate.

He will face off with Evans Kidero (ODM party) and the winner of the Jubilee Party primaries scheduled for April.
