Besieged lawyer Miguna Miguna has announced major modes of communication after alleged fake news about his whereabouts hit social platforms on Friday.
The self-made National Resistance Movement (NRM) Kenya general released a statement from Dubai after rumours that he was headed to Canada on Friday morning sprouted, detailing persons who will handle communication and fundraising initiatives on his behalf.
In what he termed as "important information" to the media and public Dr Miguna Miguna said he had authorised a Canadian Liliam Asiimwe and Ferdinand Ogumah to speak on his behalf.
"I have only authorized the following individuals to speak or act on my behalf: Lilian Asiimwe (+16479827903) is my only official spokesperson and coordinator, including coordinating media and fundraising activities. Ferdinand Ogumah will be solely responsible for publishing on my verified social media platforms," he explained in a Facebook post seen by Hivisasa.com.
Besides, written enquiries can be made to info@migunamiguna.com.
He added that his family members and lawyers will appoint representatives to speak on their behalves whenever necessary.
"Please treat anyone else purporting to speak on my behalf as an imposter," Dr Miguna wrote.
Miguna Miguna was deported back to Canada through Dubai on Wednesday but the plan faced resistance.
The controversial lawyer was bundled onto an Emirates flight to Dubai while sedated, but attempts to force him onto an onward flight to the UK flopped after he protested that he was unwell and had no requisite travel documents.
We understand that his Canadian passport o Friday went missing, making him completely without any travel document.
