In a tweet, Miguna thanked Akumu for supporting his course and requested the activist to stop the strike, eat, and prepare to fight the regime.

"The NRMKe comrades thank Mr. Boniface Akumu for showing total commitment to the struggle. However, I urge him and others not to die. Instead, we must organise, mobilise and remove the despots from their illegitimate positions of power ," Miguna posted.

Last week, Boniface launched a hunger strike protesting Miguna's deportation and failure by the government to adhere to court orders.

In a post on his Facebook page, he demanded for Miguna's unconditional release adding that those who facilitated the act must face justice.

"Today, the 29th day of March 2018 at 9:00am, I have embarked on a hunger strike in protest at the way the Kenyan government is violating the rights of its citizen Miguna Miguna," he posted.

"My demands are simple; Miguna Miguna be unconditionally allowed back into the country immediately.Whoever has the greatest responsibility for the ongoing situation must face the law and that justice must be seen to be happening.

"As I continue with consultations, my location will remain undisclosed until all necessary preparations are complete," he added.
