Mr Duale says that Miguna should be allowed into the country because he is a Kenyan and that efforts would be made to ensure his return.

He warned that the fact that he was being prevented from the country would not augur well with the country's unity.

''Miguna will be back. We will do everything that we can to ensure that he is allowed into the country. Miguna is a Kenyan citizen and he will come back. We want upon is return Kenya to remain united. If he is not around there are some people who are not happy. We will send him his passport so that he can come and be received and do rallies in Kisumu and look for a seat in 2022,'' Duale said to a cheering crowd.

The video has surfaced a day after Miguna postponed his eagerly awaited return.

The self-styled general was hounded out of the country after his high-profile involvement in the mock inauguration of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The video also comes in the context of an unverified letter of his nomination as Nairobi County Deputy Governor does rounds on social media.

Duale's words are significant as he is Jubilee's highest-ranking member in parliament.
