On Monday, three of the agency's commissioners, led by Vice Chair Consolata Nkatha exited the body citing unsuitable working environment.

She resigned alongside Margaret Mwachanya and Paul Kurgat with immediate effect in a joint statement, blaming Chair Wafula Chebukati for poor leadership and inability to make crucial decisions amid an ongoing supremacy battle between himself and Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba.

According to Miguna, however, the trio's resignation remains futile in the push for electoral justice, calling for the complete overhaul of the troubled commission and the  Chiloba-headed secretariat wing.

"Electoral justice is not about the resignation of IEBC commissioners or the secretariat only, its about the complete restructuring and overhaul of the commission," said the vocal barrister in a tweet Monday.

Miguna has since refused to accept last year's August 8 and October 26 repeat presidential polls, both of which saw President Uhuru Kenyatta announced winner, proceeding to swear in Odinga as the People's President on January 30 and is now calling for the  punishment of the entire team.

"The state must hire ethical managers and clerks and punish all the electoral thieves," he added.
