Controversial NASA lawyer and Governor Mike Sonko's nominee for Nairobi deputy governor Miguna Miguna has revealed why he did not fly back into the country as planned.
Miguna was expected in the country on Wednesday, May 16 but ended up cancelling his flight.
According to the lawyer, there were hurdles in the Kenyan Immigration department which caused him to change his mind over coming back.
He blamed the department for refusing to process his documents, adding that it was his wish to travel on the said date.
“In view of the refusal by the Department of Immigration to issue me with a valid Kenyan passport and facilitate my unconditional re-entry into Kenya as ordered by the High Court and formally requested by the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights on my behalf, and on advice from legal counsel, I have instructed my advocates to immediately bring to the attention of the court the continued willful contempt of its orders," he said via Twitter.
"I was determined to arrive home on schedule, however, just before my departure, I reluctantly canceled my flight to Nairobi and postponed my next arrival date,” Miguna added.
