Former Raila Odinga personal advisor turned politician Miguna Mguna has attacked President Kenyatta’s leadership, saying they are using ‘draconian’ methods to run the country.

Miguna, who vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial post, said the president and his deputy, William Ruto have plans to change the constitution for their own gains.

“Both President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are using draconian methods of Malaysia's Mahithir in 1988 to subvert the Constitution,” Miguna wrote on his twitter page.

According to Miguna, Kenyatta and Ruto are bitter after the Supreme Court nullified their win in the August polls, and are using unorthodox methods to change the existing laws.

President Kenyatta has in the last few days taken the Judiciary and the Supreme Court in particular face on, accusing them of robbing him his victory.

The court, in its ruling absolved president Kenyatta from any wrong doing during the bungled August polls, but his win was nullified based on illegalities and irregularities committed by the IEBC.

And it is on this basis that the head of state has taken issue with the ruling, saying the numbers were in his favour.

He further termed the decision a ‘judiciary coup’ which took away the will of the Kenyan people.

The country is set to go to the polls again on 26th October, when the president will face Raila Odinga again.
