This, however, comes amid justifications from government-allied leaders who have backed Miguna's deportation for disregarding immigration laws.

According to Ombeta, however, most of the measures outlined for leader were suspicious and mischievous, questioning the immigration department's demand that he reapply for his Kenya nationality despite being a Kenyan.

Speaking on NTV Sunday, Ombeta questioned Miguna's deportation, despite a court order directing against the same, saying that the state should have challenged the order.

"If the state felt that the order was unfair or was unable to follow it, it should have appealed it or sought its reversal," he said.

"It was wrong to deny Miguna entry into his own country, despite the court ruling that he is indeed a Kenyan national," he added.

The state has, however, stood its ground, maintaining that the outspoken lawyer will only be granted access upon compliance with the outlined directives.

This is, however, contrary to an earlier court order directing that the controversial politician be unconditionally allowed into the country to appear in court with regards to his ongoing citizenship cases.
