In a tweet Wednesday, Miguna who has since opposed the constitutional amendment attempt maintained that it will be of no use and will not solve any of the nation's current shortcomings.

He said that just as it has always been the case, with a section of political players crying foul citing rigging in the concluded presidential races, the same will occur in the referendum set for between now and the end of 2019.

According to the firebrand barrister, the changes being pushed by opposition leaders will not materialize, claiming that a section leaders drawn from the ruling Jubilee side will be all out to influence the results to prevent the changes.

"Kenyans had a referendum in 2005, nothing much came out of it. In 2007, 2013 and 2017, election theft was institutionalized and those who stole those elections will be fully in charge of the referendum in 2018/19," claimed Miguna.

He further noted that the referendum results could culminate into violence between the supporters and opposers, observing that opposition leader Raila Odingà's supporters will be the biggest losers.

"They will again kill Raila Odinga's supporters after the plebiscite," added the former Nairobi gubernatorial contestant.
