Nairobi senator Mike Sonko, Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi, his Murang'a counterpart Mwangi Wa Iria and Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria have been summoned by the Jubilee Party National Disciplinary Committee (NDC).  They are said to have influenced violence and destruction of property as the party sought to elect County leaders who would be in charge of nominations, April.

Sonko seeks to be elected as governor in Nairobi while Ndathi, and Wa Iria are seeking for a re-election, with both facing stiff competition from their rivals.

Ndathi is battling for the party ticket with former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru, who said she would oust him. The party's NDC chairman Muchai Lumatete said the Disciplinary Committee would deal firmly with members and rogue aspirants who result to violence so as to disrupt the nomination exercise.   ''It has come to my attention that a number of JP aspirants are planning to disrupt our county meetings by booing, violence. Disciplinary action might include revocation of membership and subsequent disqualification from JP nominations,'' he said.  Speaking at the party headquarters, Tuesday, Muchai noted that warning also goes to agents of various aspirants in areas like Muranga and Kerugoya who were circulating hateful messages.  On his part, Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju said all aspirants would be required to verify their academic and other documents, during nominations, before a final list of qualified aspirants is released.
