[Photo|Milicent Omanga]Jubilee Party Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga has left a message to Kenyans of the Gusii community, Thursday, a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto hosted several leaders from the community, at the Nakuru State Lodge.Below is the message:"It is absurd that we the Abagusii community continue to be the stepping stone of many especially from the western region in terms of leadership. My resolve to support Jubilee Party will be questioned and by tribalistic sentiments will draw negative energy but lemme be steadfast in defending my community and the women folks of this country. The entire NASA leadership in both houses of parliament contains purely Luos, Luhyas and Kambas and mark you all of them are men as if there are no women supporting NASA. As if that is not enough the coalition goes ahead to claim that it has the interest of the Abagusii community which is a pure sham, rhetoric and an outright lie. What happens to other communities if only three get the slots of leadership in both houses. I would wish to urge my Kisii brothers and sisters to open their eyes and see where they are valued and welcomed and that is Jubilee Party. Jimmy Angwenyi one of our own is the deputy majority leader in Jubilee Party while in NASA we as a community do not even qualify for a deputy position despite NASA claiming to be inclusive. It is time we fight for people who value our community and the only party which has showed the same is Jubilee. If a party is not even concerned about the place of women in leadership despite their huge number in our population why should we vote it in? I want to urge the Abagusii community not to be trapped by NASA for the coalition do not value us neither do they have regard for women leadership in this country."
