Incumbent Rachel Shebesh, beat Omanga after garnering 91,766 votes. Millicent came in the second position with 53,734 votes while Karen Nyamu came third with 36,828 votes.

Omango has however called the whole nomination a sham exercise.

Speaking to the press, Friday, when she led her supporters to the party’s headquarters, Omanga called for the nullification of the whole exercise saying the process was marred with irregularities in majority of the constituencies.

"The people of Nairobi we want justice. There were so many cases of irregularities," said Omanga.

“In some areas you could use an ID to vote, others like Westlands and Dagoretti North were using registers,” she added. “I am calling for the whole exercise to be nullified.”

On Thursday, Shebesh stormed Nyayo stadium tallying centre purpoting there was a plan to rig her out of the race on favour of Omanga.
