Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati's quest for Gusii community top jib suffered a major blow on Sunday after a section of leaders ganged against him.
After being installed in March, Arati vowed to unite the community adding that his decision was guided by the vacuum exhibited in spokesperson position.
"I have come on my own and to the people. I am sure the honour you have bestowed upon me won't be in vain," he had said.
But his move has not gone well with leaders from the region with some openly questioning his political moves.
At South Mugirango on Sunday, nominated senator Millicent Omanga reignited the leadership debate, when she dismissed Arati as an impostor.
"There is a man who the other day was told by his Chinese wife that he can lead us yet, he has never reached out to any leader.
"If at all he is a spokesman, he would have given us roads and good schools. He is just a fake spokesman and he should be ignored," she said.
Even though Arati has not unveiled his strategies, insiders say that he could be warming for Kisii County gubernatorial seat.
Should he join the race, the second term legislator could face Fred Matiang'i and Richard Onyonka in 2022.
