Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo has expressed her disappointment towards police officers for failing to arrest and prosecute persons who have been threatening her life.
The legislator has also lamented that police officers have done nothing in regard to the death of her bodyguard a few weeks ago. Odhiambo’s personal bodyguard, Mr Kennedy Okore was killed under unclear circumstances during the Homa Bay County ODM primaries.
The legislator’s house was also torched down by unknown persons. Odhiambo, who has been a strong critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, claimed that police officers are aware of the persons behind her woes but they have done little to ensure that she gets justice at the end of the day.
The lawmaker argues that the intention of the assailants who raided her home was to kill her. The vocal politician has faulted her opponents of plotting her downfall before the August General polls.
“I am not happy with how the police are dealing with my security, my guard was killed, my house burned and now am being threatened but the police are yet to take any action,” she said, ass quoted by Standard.
The legislator has also called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to vacate power before August for failing to address the high cost of living.
