Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has strongly come to the defence of Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee following her performance in Wembley, London.
The vocal legislator asked those slamming Akothee to stop being hypocrites as they themselves would be all over asking for some explicit photos of some women having sex with gym instructors.
“Kenyans are strange. Very hypocritical. Akothee is allegedly immoral because she performs in a bath suit but you are all over asking to be inboxed videos of a woman you do not know having sex with a gym instructor you do not know. I hear the photos are more explicit than Akothe’s performance attire,” Millie said.
The legislator through her Facebook page on Thursday further urged Kenyans to put their house in order before turning their slams to Akothee.
''Why do you want to see the photos? You want to use them as you fast and pray for them or to get a style you do not know? Leave that unknown couple of two consenting adults alone. Leave Akodhe alone. First sort out your own weird need to see private parts of strangers,'' she said.
Akothee was pictured dressed in swimsuit, throwing a kick up in the air visibly showing her crotch.
The Mombasa based singer has been critized by several other leaders with the latest being Orie Ringo Manduli who described the singer as rogue artist who lacked qualities of a good role model.
The mother of five was performing at the One Africa Music Fest held at the SSE Wembley Arena in London on June 2.
