Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo has opened up about her relationship with president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The lawmaker has in many occasions been criticising the president and his government.
Some say she is disrespectful to the president while others support her controversial character.
Speaking during an interview in one of the local TV station, Thursday, Millie disclosed she has nothing personal with the Head of State. She however asked Uhuru to obey to the constitution if he wants to earn her respect.
“I have respect for the institution of the presidency,” said Millie.
“As to the president himself he needs to earn my respect, because he goes about abusing people, I think that does not really endure me to give him respect," she said.
“He goes about not doing right things. Constitutionally I don’t think that does not endure a level of respect. Otherwise, there is nothing personal but I would like him to adhere to the constitution,” she noted.
“I am controversial because I speak out what I believe and I say,” she added.
