Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has responded to Rachel Ruto after she asked Kenyans to forgive the Jubilee government for its failures.
Rachel, Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, had asked Kenyans to forgive Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta for not accomplishing all their pledges to wananchi.
Rachel acknowledged that indeed there are some aspects the government performed poorly and had failed to meet Kenyans’ expectations.
She was speaking during a prayer rally at Central Park in Nanyuki on Monday.
“As God’s servant and wife of Deputy President I plead for your forgiveness on behalf of the government for failing to address some problems facing the country,” she said.
In a response, Millie, a strong critic of Jubilee, has told Rachel that Kenyans can forgive UhuRuto but they will have to face punishment for failing to deliver.
"When you sin, God forgives but you are not exempt from punishment. Let us send Jubilee home even as we forgive them. We send them home for failing in their duty and failing to put God at the centre of leadership. I wish it was Rachel who was the leader," Millie said, as quoted by Tuko.
