Lari Sub County administrator Stephen Kiiru has said Sh 40 million has been set aside to oversee repair of roads and sewer systems in the area.

The administrator said that various roads have been identified for renovation, and tarmacking in order to ease transportation.

Speaking to press at Lari shopping centre, Kiiru said that the money was part of the huge fund the county government has set aside for development.

“We have received Sh40 million from the county government to immediately start renovation of all roads,” said Kiiru.

The administrator also said that the construction would see young people get temporary jobs adding that more opportunities would soon come.

The administrator said that poor road networks and blocked sewer systems is among the major issues facing the sub county.

Kiiru assured residents that the sub county is committed to improving their living standards saying that some projects have been commissioned.

He further stated that various wards have been supplied with clean drinking water and the same would be done in the remaining wards.

Over the weekend, the administrator had warned street light vandals saying that their days were numbered.

He said that a special team of police officers will be deployed across the sub county to arrest those who take part in vandalism.
