Patients and residents of Nakuru on Tuesday were surprised by the military men and women who visited the Nakuru Level 5 hospital for a cleanup exercise.

The officers clad in their official attire were in the hospital not to receive treatment but for their official cleanup exercise.

Sources from Lanet and Gilgil military base has it that the exercise is part of giving back to the community.

The patients in the hospital also praised the military for the good work of sanitation.

"I am pleased with our military for this good work if showing the society the way through this sanitation,"said Kamau Paul,a patient .

Similar sentiments were echoed by Martha Njeri, who said the military have shown that they not just defend the nation against attack but also defend the nation against diseases by ensuring the clean status of the hospital commonly known as PGH.
