Should President Uhuru Kenyatta have his reelection upheld by the Supreme Court, he may embark in cleaning his government to reflect the face of the country, a move that would see a number of people losing key positions.
Already, Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has revealed that Kenyatta will not condone ‘lazy’ workers in his regime and that he will crack a whip on corruption suspects.
With a host of allies at pole position for senior government appointments, Uhuru will be making tough choices especially in his current cabinet as constituted.
The minister of Internal Coordination will be the first to get a replacement following the unprecedented death of Major General [Rtd] Joseph Nkaissery.
But a number of active Cabinet Secretaries may retain their seat given their close working relationship with Uhuru.
Among those tipped to retain their jobs include Fred Matiang’i (Education), Amina Mohammed (Foreign Affairs), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution) and Public Service dicket Cecily Kariki.
A number of election losers including Kenneth Lusaka and Gideon Mung’aro could land big jobs in Uhuru’s anticipated second term.
