The Ministry of the Education has set up an audit unit to bring probity into the use of resources to avoid wastage of the funds pumped into the sector.This comes as the Ministry implements a raft of measures to curb wastage including providing free secondary school textbooks.Dr. Matiang'i revealed yesterday, during Wings to Fly sponsorship award ceremony, that schools were embezzling funds meant for them and that the Ministry was keen on curbing the problem.''If we reduce wastage in the public management of our resources, we reduce the level of corruption and mediocrity in our midst, we will have enough resources to support our children individually and collectively,'' Dr. Matiang'i said according to the Daily Nation.
