The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) will host a national curriculum reforms conference on Monday January 30, at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The event will see the launch of the Basic Education Curriculum Framework and offer an update to the public on the milestones achieved in the curriculum reform process.
The Basic Education Curriculum Framework is the outcome of extensive stakeholder engagement, a national needs assessment study, deliberations from a national curriculum reform conference and several benchmarking studies.
The framework is aligned to the Constitution, Vision 2030, the East African Community Curriculum Harmonisation Structures and Framework, and several other policy documents that express the aspirations of the country.
Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive conceptualisation of basic education, pre-primary education, primary education, secondary education and special needs education.
