The Ministry of Health has received a donation of vaccine storage equipment worth Sh9 million from B-Medical Systems.
The Equipment were delivered by Angela Kisoso on behalf of B-Medical Systems and received by the Head of Curative Services Dr Izaq Odongo, on behalf of Health Principal Secretary Julius Korir.
Dr Odongo said the Ministry of Health spends over Sh4 billion to procure vaccines annually.
"Over the last three years the government has procured more than 2,000 pieces of equipment worth one billion shillings," he said, while receiving the equipment at the National Vaccine Depot in Kitengela, Kajiado County.
He revealed that in the next four years, the government has plans to procure an additional 4,500 pieces of equipment worth Sh1.2 billion through a partnership with GAVI, multi-sectoral and multi-partner investment.
