Marsabit County Governor Mohamud Ali has suspended the operations of eight ministries in the county to enable assessment to be done.
However, the Jubilee governor exempted the health, water and security departments.
According to the the county boss, this will help in reorganization of the county government to improve efficiency.
The suspension aims at looking on ghost workers in the county.
The governor ordered all county vehicles be parked at the headquarters and the car keys surrendered to the deputy governor Solomon Gubow.
"The human resource department should cease all operations and the registry keys handed over to the deputy governor's office," the governor said in a memo.
Ali of Jubilee defeated former governor Ukur Yattani of the Frontier Alliance Party.
Jubilee party won the majority of seats in the county with three members who will represent in the National Assembly.
The three Mps elect are Musa Arbelle for Laisamis constituency, Ali Raso for Saku constituency and Gufu Wario for Moyale constituency.
Yattani speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the new governor said he made the county more cohesive than he found it in 2013 by uniting all ethnic groups living and working in the county.
