Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has warned that he will go for all the people using fake university degree papers and unearth them.
Addressing school principals at the All Saints Cathedral Anglican church in Nairobi, Matiang'i lashed out at political figures who want to assume office using irregularly acquiring academic qualifications.
"There is no human being in his right mind who can fake papers and then ask to lead people," he said.
"We are having a massive level of corruption in this country because we allowed it. This problem began in the education sector when we started allowing people to seek jobs using fake papers," he added.
Matiang'i decried the current situation where some staff are being promoted without merit, most of whom have papers from unrecognised institutions.
He told the school heads to be at the forefront in sanitising the education sector by instilling the desired values in learners and leading by example.
