Performing schools in Migori County are appealing to the ministry of education to improve infrastructure in the schools due to the high number of students seeking admissions.
Oyugi Ogango Girls Secondary school principal Mrs. Martha Ouma said most top schools have been overwhelmed by the high number of students seeking admissions.
She said the high number of students scrambling for chances in the few available performing schools has made most of the schools to overstretch their resources.
Mrs. Ouma asked the government to find a way of improving academics in other schools to boost admissions.
Her sentiments were echoed by Kanga High School deputy principal Mr. George Ogolla, who said the school has been forced to partition some classes to accommodate other students.
Mr. Ogolla noted that the school was forced to admit a higher number of students this year.
He added that there is the need for the government to support the schools in terms of infrastructure development so that the schools can accommodate more students.
