The government has heightened its war on contraband goods being smuggled into the country illegally by unscrupulous businesspeople.Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Industrialisation Patrick Nduati said that the government has bolstered surveillance on the Kenya-Uganda border in Malaba.''We have our diligent officers on the Malaba border where unscrupulous traders have been smuggling contrabands into the country,'' the Industrialisation Principal Secretary said.Hardly two weeks ago, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) incinerated contrabands at the border worth over 10 million shillings to send a strong message to unscrupulous traders.
