Police are looking for man who defiled a 10 year old minor in Kasawing Market in Nyamasaria, Kisumu County last week on Wednesday.
According to the mother of the minor, the child went to visit her aunt at 7pm in the evening, when an unknown boda boda man attacked her and defiled her.
She said that a neighbor rescued the class 3 child at Kasawing Market went she was stranded at 3 am in the morning.
"She was found with stubbed wound on the left shoulder, her face was swollen and she was defiled," said the mother.
Kisumu County Hospital Gynecologist Head, Dr Paul Mitei, said that girl was brought in the hospital with serious injuries.
Dr Mitei said that the girl sustained third degree tear in the genitals,head injuries and stubbed wound on the left shoulder.
"She had injuries behind her head as well as the eyes were grossly swollen.Nail marks on the neck probably indicating the child was being strangled," said Dr Mitei.
"The most worrying injuries are the head injuries since the child is vomiting. Sometimes if you have head injuries you will continuously vomit," added Mitei.
FIDA Western Region Senior legal Council, Jackline Onyango, said that the most urgent thing the child need was medical care.
"We are aware the type of injuries she had suffered. We have contacted Nairobi Women's Hospital and they have agreed that the child should go to their Nakuru Clinic for specialized treatment," notes Onyango.
FIDA Senior Legal Council urged the members of the public to identify and report the suspect to the police.
"We hope that the perpetrator would be arrested and face justice," said Onyango.
