A 12 year old girl died while her 20 year old sister sustained slight injuries after they were struck by lightning at Omorendi village, Nyamache, Kisii county.

A cow and its calf were also killed in the incident.Nyamache sub county police boss Japheth Mwirichia said they were briefed by villagers of the incident adding that the body of the deceased has been taken to the Nyamache Hospital morgue to await burial.

 “They were rushed to Nyamache Sub county hospital where the 12 year old succumbed due to her injuries.  The injured victim was discharged after her condition Improved,” he said.
