Speaking to Radio Citizen in an interview, Kiberia Lawama said that when the device crashed on his farm on Friday, it attracted a large crowd that stepped on his crops including Miraa and therefore asked the Kenyan government and Google to compensate him for the damages.
“When that device crashed, it was brightly shining thus so many people who were scared came to see. In the process the close to 7,000 people stepped on my crops; maize, beans and some even picked Miraa which was ready for sale,” Lawama said.
“There was a lot of damage that the Kenyan government, the company owning the device and its country of origin must look in to and compensate appropriately,” he added.
Mr. Lawama further said that the device fell in the middle of three farms and therefore his other two neighbours also have to be compensated since the damage was spread all over.
“I have two neighbours whose farmers were also affected by the large crowd which damaged their maize crops.”
The device crashed on the farm on Friday and was later collected by the police who dispersed the large crowd.
