Led by human right activist Zuenna Mogambi, they said Timothy Bosire has ignored the area, making many residents travel several kilometres to access dispensaries in the neighbouring Tombe area.

They accused Mr Bosire of engaging in selective development since many areas are said to have benefited from CDF kitty through construction of local dispensaries.

“We are very disappointed by the honorable member. He promised us that the dispensary will be elevated only to shun us two years down the line. We have lost trust in him since women and children are trekking long distances to get treatment,” Ms Zuenna said.

“He is very selective in terms of working for his constituents. We are aware that many regions in the constituency have benefitted from the CDF kitty but Miriri region has been completely ignored,” she said.

However, Mr Bosire’s aide, Justus Omiti, said plans were in place to elevate the dispensary after he was contacted, since the legislator’s phone was going unanswered.

“I think the region is among those listed by the MP as the ones to be prioritised. I am sure all will be well, it’s only that they have to wait for few months,” he said.
