Mombasa Woman Representative Mishi Mboko has urged politicians across the political divide to shun violence and champion for unity in their campaigns.Mboko said violence will only polarize the country ahead of the August polls.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Wednesday, Mboko appealed to politicians to tone down and spearhead peaceful campaigns.“There is no need for us (politicians) to perpetuate or instigate actions that will polarize the country, we must tolerate each other and preach unity,” said Mboko, as quoted by the Nation.The Mombasa Woman Rep said political violence will spell doom for the country.While condemning the Migori chaos, Mboko asked relevant agencies to punish perpetrators of the attack.“When it comes to violence we must speak against it in equal measure,” she said.Mboko urged Kenyans not to be swayed into violence by selfish politicians, and urged Kenyans to remain peaceful as the country heads to the August 8 general election.Meanwhile, Mboko has urged women to support her bid for the Likoni parliamentary seat.She said she will push for more women empowerment programmes if elected, adding that she has the experience to represent Likoni people in the National Assembly.Mboko is eyeing to unseat ODM rebel MP Masoud Mwahima in August.
