Outspoken Likoni MP Mishi Mboko is in full support of the swearing-in of opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
Mishi who spoke in Mombasa when she met women groups from her constituency on Friday said the only way NASA can push for electoral reforms is by swearing-in Raila and Kalonzo as leaders of the ‘People’s Republic’.
“We should swear-in and constitute our own government, only then can we move on,” she said.
Kalonzo, when he returned to the country from Germany on Tuesday where he attended to his wife who had been hospitalized told the Jubilee administration to embrace dialogue or else he and Raila will take the oath of office.
The Wiper party leader left the country shortly after he and Raila withdrew from the October 26 presidential re-run, which they said would be rigged in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Kenyans came out in large numbers and voted for Raila. NASA won the election on August 8," he said, contrary to an announcement by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
"Tribalism and electoral injustice have halted development so the President should not blame us as we get sworn in. If there will be no dialogue, we must be sworn in."
Mishi said NASA has been patiently waiting for Uhuru to convene a meeting for dialogue with the opposition over poll reforms but the head of the state’s laxity may mean the conference won’t be convened, paving way for the NASA principal’s swearing-in.
Raila has already hinted he and Kalonzo will take the oath of office early 2018.
