Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko will battle it out with businessman Hamisi Domoko for the Likoni ODM ticket ahead of the August general election. Both Mboko and Domoko are confident of victory as they seek to unseat Masoud Mwahima, who defected from ODM to Jubilee Party.Mboko, a close ally of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, has said she will ask her supporters to back Domoko in the event that she loses during the primaries. The legislator has been at the forefront of criticising the Jubilee government, accussing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto of failing to address issues facing Coast residents.Mboko has also faulted Uhuru for fighting opposition governors, citing the case of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who is under investigations for allegedly forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.Meanwhile, she has cautioned residents against advocating for an increase in the number of polling stations, arguing it will be too costly.
