Mboko claims that Chebukati failed Kenyans long time ago and that he should resign.

Speaking to journalist's at the Parliament Building’s in Nairobi on Wednesday, Mboko said that IEBC needs serious reforms minus the current chairman and some of the secretariat top officials.

She said that the issues the opposition was raising against the IEBC prior to and after last year’s general election are now being proven.

“Chebukati must take responsibility of what is happening at IEBC and should follow suit and quit just like the other commissioner's did on Monday," she said.

Mboko said that Chebukati disappointed and  let Kenyans down during last years general election.

The vocal ODM MP  accused Chebukati of rubbishing the concerns the opposition had been raising in regards to alleged rot at the commission.

The MP asked politicians across the political divide to now deliberate and push for serious electoral reforms.

Mboko said that electoral reforms are needed to guarantee credibility in future elections.

She said that unless reforms are carried out the country will not realize justice and electoral fairness.

On Monday, IEBC Vice chairperson Connie Nkatha Maina, Commissioner's Paul Kurgat and Margaret Mwachanya resigned.

In their resignation notice, the three accused Chebukati of failing to provide leadership at the commission.
