Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has asked the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government to provide adequate security to NASA leaders and supporters during their grand rally at Uhuru Park on Tuesday.Mboko has also warned the Jubilee government against using police to intimidate NASA supporters who will turn up for the Tuesday rally.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa Town on Thursday, the ODM MP asked the police to reject orders of using force on innocent opposition supporters.She alleged that the Kenya police force has been militarized to intimidate opposition leaders and supporters who are fighting for electoral justice.“Police must be ready to accord us (NASA) the necessary security during our rally at Uhuru Park on Tuesday next week, we don’t want to witness events that occurred during Raila Odinga’s grand arrival from the US last week,” she said.The MP said that NASA is fighting a worthy cause of liberating the country, and dismissed claims that the opposition wants to plunge the country into war.Mboko said Kenyans are tired of election malpractices, adding that it is high time the necessary constitutional reviews are implemented to guard the credibility of presidential elections.NASA has planned a parallel rally on Tuesday at Uhuru Park as President Uhuru Kenyatta will be taking his the oath of office at the Kasarani Stadium.There have been speculations that NASA is planning to swear in Raila Odinga on Tuesday. The opposition has maintained that it does not recognize Uhuru’s presidency.
