Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra says politics ended after the repeat October 26 presidential poll and now it is time to work for the electorate.

"It is sad that today, all we hear, read and see is who will become what in 2022, politicians should stop this early campaigns and concentrate on how to make the lives of people better," said Mishra in his constituency, Saturday.

"Let us concentrate on how to implement the Jubilee party manifesto and we will cross the 2022 bridge when we reach there. Kenyans will not eat politics," he added.

The Jubilee MP said it was wrong for 2022 politics to take center stage at a time the country is facing a lot of challenges among them floods, hunger, and insecurity.

He noted that elected leaders should work on addressing the challenges as 2022 was still far.

Politics of 2022 seems to have already begun barely a year after a general election with a recent surprise handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga causing jitters in Deputy President William Ruto's camp.

The first-term legislator further said time should not be wasted on a debate of how to change the constitution so as to create positions for a few individuals.
