In a move to improve the quality of education offered, Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarrup Mishra has donated 15 computers to 15 secondary schools in Cheptiret/Kipchamo and Racecourse wards.
According to the MP, this is part of his ongoing efforts to improve the education standards in secondary schools in his constituency.
“As I pledged during the electioneering period, I am determined to ensure that each school in the area has sufficient computers to enhance learning for the students and teacher's efficiency,” said the Kesses MP after donating the computers to various secondary schools, Sunday.
“As the area MP, I am determined to incorporate all stakeholders across Kesses constituency and beyond to ensure efficiency in learning institutions and also improve performance for both primary and secondary schools,” he added.
Mishra who is serving his first term in Parliament said his aim is to ensure that students from his constituency access digital learning just like their counterparts in urban areas.
He reiterated that each secondary school will get at least one computer and he will ensure that the schools are connected to electricity before the year ends.
The 15 computers are worth Sh1.5 million.
"After completing donating computers to schools, I will open cyber cafes for youths to access free Wi-Fi across all centers in the Constituency," added Mishra.
