Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has promised to ensure that residents in his constituency will no longer walk for long distances to access clean water.
The Jubilee MP said he will ensure adequate provision of clean water to everyone in order to prevent them from being infected by waterborne diseases.
"As I am talking I have already sent water engineers to survey Kerita and Kesses dams which are the identified water points in Kesses Constituency," said Mishra in Eldoret town, Sunday.
"Once the contractors are through with the survey the work will start immediately. I am really saddened when I see women traveling many kilometers carrying water on their heads, in a few years this will be a thing of the past," he added.
The MP popularly known as Arap Chelule said his programme on water supply is geared towards ensuring that in the next five years every household will have piped water.
He further assured the electorates that he will put every single cent to good use and warned that any corrupt official would be shown the door.
Mishra said his administration will enhance transparency and accountability and urged residents to act as watchdogs by reporting any corrupt official to face the full force of the law.
