Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has refuted claims that he will be vying for Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the 2022 general elections.
The first time MP says he is now focusing on serving his electorate insisting that he has no intention to succeed the governor Jackson Mandago.
"I have no intention whatsoever of vying for governorship position in 2022 since I am contented with my Member of Parliament seat," he said on Sunday after donating foodstuffs and clothes to the Muslim.
Mishra further noted that he will prove his critics wrong by implementing all the pre-election pledges he made to the voters during the electioneering period.
"I was elected by the Kesses electorates and I will respect them by working tirelessly around the clock to improve their livelihoods and nothing else," he insisted.
The MP further said he will empower the youth, women, and people living with disability so that they can be self-reliant to improve their social and economic lives.
Mishra had been seen as among those eyeing to succeed governor Mandago when he completes his two terms in 2022 but his declaration puts to an end speculations about his next political step after beating all the odds to be first non-Kalenjin elected MP in Uasin Gishu.
