Former Miss World Kenya Nyamira County Mercy Mokeira who died last month will be laid to rest onFriday at her father’s home in Ekerenyo.
The 23-year-old died at the North Kinangop Hospital on January 28 where she was undergoingtreatment for an undisclosed disease.
Mokeira, a law student at Kenyatta University, was due to graduate in June.
“You really represented us well. You fought Courageously. You made us proud. You raised the county flag high. As youths, you represented the youth without fear. You believed in yourself. You achieved the unachievable. You did the impossible. You nurtured, lead, and empowered. You never gave up. You still pushed on to achieve more and more. You became braver, wiser, knowledgeable, strong, and courageous each and everyday. You are a hero. You are a queen to our county,” an aspirant, Douglas Maraga, eulogised Mercy in his Facebook post.
