Bodaboda operators in Kangoya village, Kiambu County are gripped with fear after one of their own who had been reported missing on Sunday was found dead.

According to Peter Kamunya, who is the chairman of Kiambu bodaboda riders, the body of the bodaboda rider was found some few metres from a mosque on Wednesday, three days after he went missing.

Bodaboda operators in Kangoya village in Kiambu County were left short of words when they learned of ohn Waweru's brutal murder. Waweru was reported missing on Sunday by his kin and his fellow bodaboda operators launched an operation to find his whereabouts.

Kamunya said, “Waweru was brutally killed and his body dumped where we found it with his head appearing as though it had been mauled by dogs,” said the chairman.

According to Kamunya, Waweru had been called upon by two men who wanted to be transported to Kiamumbi the last time he was spotted.

It is suspected he could have been killed on the spot where his motorbike was also stolen.

Riabai MCA Hezron Gachui while condemning the heinous act called upon locals to stay put and be on guard to protect their colleagues. He termed the incident as unfortunate and uncalled for.

“I urge all the stakeholders including law enforcers to ensure that security for the operators is guaranteed,” said Gachui. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Kiambu that you want Hivisasa to cover? Tell us what is happening by joining this group and have it published.
