The body of a 36-year-old man from Gatukuyu in Gatundu North has been recovered from Kariminu River.
This follows a three-day search after he went missing.
Passers-by allegedly saw the body stuck near a rock in the river on their way for their daily business.
The family of the bereaved confirmed that Joseph Waiganjo had a wife and two children who are still in primary school.
“It is a sad moment for our family. Having lost a brother who went missing for three days and later receiving bad news of his body recovery is shocking to us,” said Ann Warui, a sister to the deceased.
According to police, the cause of his death is yet to be known. However, police assured residents that they would investigate the matter.
The body of the deceased was taken to the General Kago Mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
